Grand Opening for New Charleston, South Carolina 70K SF Office and Climate Controlled Storage Facility

Built Partnership held its grand opening for a beautiful three story climate controlled office and self-storage facility located at 2076 Wambaw Creek Road in Charleston SC.  The facility was built by converting a high-quality brick and block construction open warehouse built in 2007 and acquired out of receivership at a significant discount to market value.  Built added a three story structural steel mezzanine inside yielding 70,000 leasable SF of climate controlled Self Storage.  

 

Debt financing was provided by Ameris Bank with equity provided by Built Partnership investors.

All Star Storage at Clement’s Ferry will be managed by Universal Storage Group (USG), an Atlanta-based self-storage management firm.

 

The facility at 2076 Wambaw Creek Drive includes more than 540 climate-controlled units, 20 rental offices in a premium office are which includes a breakroom and a conference area. Security features will include keypad access, perimeter fencing and video cameras. The property will also offer UHaul truck rentals.

 

“Growing demand for climate-controlled units in the Daniel Island, Cainhoy and the Mount Pleasant area has led us to develop this facility to meet the specific needs of local customers,” said CEO Albert Heyward. “The office rentals will particularly appeal to businesses needing flexible onsite storage, and the month-to-month rental availability makes them extremely competitive vs. more traditional lease options.”

Heyward has more than 35 years of experience in the self-storage industry as president of The Heyward Group as well as co-founder and chief development officer for Universal Storage Group.
